Jack Welch - CEO - GE - Quotes:

The world of the 1990s and beyond will not belong to 'managers' or those who can make the numbers dance. The world will belong to passionate, driven leaders - people who not only have enormous amounts of energy but who can energize those whom they lead.

If you don’t have a competitive advantage, don’t compete.

Good business leaders create a vision, articulate the vision, passionately own the vision, and relentlessly drive it to completion.

Face reality as it is, not as it was or as you wish it to be.

Don’t manage - lead change before you have to.

Control your own destiny or someone else will.

Be candid with everyone.

So, in a month's time, a tornado that would have devastated the Indonesian coast doesn't happen. Or maybe one that wasn't going to happen, does. (Ian Stewart, Does God Play Dice? The Mathematics of Chaos, pg. 141)
